Last night was ALJ Key Club’s “Superstar Night”, that was truly amazing. It was inspiring to see so many outstanding students in one room and to celebrate their achievements together.
The Kiwanis Club presented scholarships to deserving seniors for their dedication of service during their years at ALJ. Congratulations to all the Key Club students who received awards and seniors who received stoles to wear on graduation for their 4-year service with key club.

Time to Declutter
It’s that time of year again – spring cleaning time! Time to open those closets and garages and get rid of all the stuff that’s been piling up over the years. Say goodbye to those old clothes that don’t fit anymore, the shoes you never wore, and the stuffed animals that have been collecting dust.
Out with the Old
Take a good look at everything you own and ask yourself if you need it. If not, it’s time to let it go. Donate it to charity, Kiwanis and the Arthur L Johnson High School Key Club Kids will gladly accept your bags of goods. Clearing out the clutter will not only make your space look better, but will also make you feel lighter and more organized.
This is the list of items we accept at our Clothing Collection Fundraisers:
Clothing for men, women and children.
Shoes.
Clothing accessories: belts, hats, scarves, handbags, gloves etc.
We take small toys (2 ft. or less).
Stuffed animals, towels, sheets & pillowcases.
Bikes & Strollers.
Items we don’t accept:
Quilts, comforters, pillows & blankets.
Sport equipment (bikes are OK).
No board games, books, puzzles, pots, CAR SEATS.
No electrical devices or glass.
No large toys, highchairs or baby cribs or scooters.
VCR tapes, furniture and outdoor play sets.
Bric and brac (picture frames, school supplies, phone cases, candles,
cosmetics, gritting cards, plastic cups , food containers, baking accessories).
Home and holiday decorations / pet accessories.
Enjoy Your Clean Space
Once you’ve decluttered and dropped off your bags at the ALJ high school, and organized your home, take a moment to enjoy your clean space. Breathe in the fresh air, admire your tidy closets, and revel in accomplishment. Spring cleaning may be a lot of work, but the result is definitely worth it.
Save the date! Our 13th Annual Miracles for Myeloma 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2025. Register as individuals or teams, all are welcome!!
Last year it was held at Oak Ridge Park in Clark, N.J. This event was a great success. Last year they were able to raise over $50,000 to help find a cure for multiple myelomas. It was a hybrid event with virtual racing for those who could not attend. Rain or shine, our participants run and walk, to support the vital goal of a cure for multiple myelomas.

Every year, we partner with a group very dear to our hearts. Jenni’s Toys is an organization dedicated to help local families and children. Their goal is to contribute to those in need during the holiday season with toys, clothes, medical needs and food. During the holiday season, we gather to gift wrap over items that were donated by individuals and businesses. We were able to provide gifts for over 600 children.
It was time well spent this year; the number of donations were more than the last. Key club volunteers from ALS high school increased our ranks to finish this task in record time. I love this stuff!
Clark Kiwanis elves are diligently prepping for another winter with stocking stuffers. Each winter our members contribute time for holiday stocking stuffing. The items go to the Visions and Pathways for abused, homeless, and at-risk kids. This year the elves, stuffed-a-plenty, 30 stockings. Well done sprightly elves!
News break!…We caught two holiday pixies with a beautiful Kiwanis Christmas tree. Members Ron and Sheree Pask were observed placing and decorating our very own Kiwanis tree outside of town hall by the office of the clerk. It’s rare to catch them in the act! We appreciate your commitment to spread the holiday cheer…you sneaky rascals.
